BASE Jumping
BASE jumping (an acronym for Building, Antenna, Span, Earth) is an extreme sport where participants jump from fixed objects with a parachute, typically a small, specially designed one, that opens immediately after the jump. Unlike traditional skydiving, where jumps are made from an aircraft, BASE jumping involves leaping from stationary structures such as buildings, cliffs, or bridges.
In Sri Lanka, BASE jumping is still in the early stages, but it is gaining interest among adventure seekers due to the island’s unique geography, which offers cliffs, mountains, and tall buildings that are suitable for this thrilling sport.
